As we have early spring (in Iceland the seasons are quite compressed – spring summer and autumn is May to October at the best – the rest is winter or something close to it ;-)) birds are trying to reproduce. It is burring, bizzing, whorping, whooping, flapping, showing off, etc. everywhere…
This one made no exception – still wearing the winter coat.

as the weather was still quite icy (yet the tide was turning) the mountais are still covered with some powdered sugar

This was one of the most dramatic descends into a valley we have every seen – pure majesty

The gorges and rivers are always so beautiful and now with the snow starting to melt they become quite violent as well

Reindeer are migrating, too. Some are wild, some kept like cattle

All this in this extraordinary landscape

What a beauty

And some more scenes

Munching about

I love mosses

And strange rocks

Wide vistas over the ocean

Cragged teeth

More close-up – so bizarre

Endless beaches (not for swimming but beauty…)

And inland deserts

The hexagonal columns are always very nice as well

And a glacier

With the wider view over the excess rivers

Building bridges is quite a challenge here

But the views are just stunning

These colours and sights are just amazing

A glacier next to our campsite

And some bird getting busy

As I said – spring…
