Athens

After a bit of a rough start due to some potential e coli infected razor clams we had in Scotland, we took it veeeeery slowly the first days… Venturing into the old town of Athens is a huge treat and the city is just wonderful to be

The Acropolis was fortunately not too crowded (no idea how this is in summer – well yes, you don’t want to be there…) yet magnificent. Not very much to see, but the feeling is great

Cafes at always a treat for the wary traveller and allow you to replenish yourself (and go to the recycled beverages department)

Many places invite you to watch, linger and just enjoy

The ancient agora with its ruins, temples and the vibe

In summer everything must be teeming with tourists and locals and parties everywhere, yet in February it was just great!

After some 5 days (which is more than enough – actually 3-4 would be fine), we were heading towards the Peloponnes and Kalamata (which most Greek consider the most beautiful part of it) with our rental car.

It’s just a 3h drive and the destination is amazing – so stay tuned
