Shikoku temple

A confession – I love temples. They are usually very beautiful, often serene, some have a spiritual „air“ around them and quite all of them are worth to be photographed. So here is another one – this time with the added extra that my old field camera was updated with my digital back to create the images…

Cleaning and washing

rock, moss and tree

Japanese maple is just amazing to shoot – so fragrant

and lush at the same time

A very peaceful setting

Usually the temples have some old trees incoorporated

These are a Japanese speciality and looking almost dead

Usually cedars predominate

The old headstone with inscriptions

another oldie

steps and steps

the old dojo

CF002444_1600

they are almost always amazing due to the many details like the stones put on top, the moss, the material

CF002446_1600

just the setting as such

CF002447_1600

old buildings – perhaps old monk cells?

and a small shrine before the bigger one

CF002452_1600

lean on me brother

CF002454_1600

the whole setting once more in context

CF002456_1600

bell tower – well house…

with surroundings

CF002460_1600

just peace

and trees
