As we happened to have extraordinary weather the last days I made one hiking excursion and an early morning trip to Iona which I wanted to share.
This is the Glenforsa estate (the river is the Forsa) and just some 10km down the road from my camper. You can walk the valley for some 20 km and arrive at the next road
Beautiful nature
And sometimes trees grow in bizarre directions
Early morning on the way to Iona
I just loved the mossy cap
Sunrise behind the old church
The “mirror lake”
Mist and dew over the meadows
Rocky outcrops at Fionnaphort
A very rugged coastline
All the way up and up and up
In the far distance the island of Skye is visible and in between the island of Staffa where Mendelsohn got his idea for “Fingal’s cave” (Hebridian Overture)
Iona Abbey where Urzula is working
Let me out…
On the way back at night this bay was so amazing I had to stop
this boat will go nowhere…
Same boat – different view
Echt sehr schöne Bilder
