As yesterday was an absolute beautiful day I couldn’t resist, but had to take a stroll around the corner (quite literally) into the higher grounds.
What looks like ice in the beginning (we had some very nippy nights the past days)
actually will be tadpoles and frogs quite soon… If there is any truth about the mosquito population here in Scotland the amount of eggs makes absolute sense and is rather frightening…
Still not bathing weather, yet it’s improving.
Well, this frog (or toad?) somehow got the concept about wet places wrong…

The weather really was outstanding
As the tracks are quite muddy it was good that the ground next to it was still a bit frozen. Otherwise you would need a snorkel in places
On the way back I discovered this majestic tree (they are cutting down the artificial conifers right now and let native birches and ash grow)
So gnarly and old…
