As the hotel in Pico was rather oldish it had no air-condition… In principle you can survive that (we did in Costa Rica), but if there is no air movement at all and 25° at night plus 75% humidity you feel like being washed out of your bed. Not so nice…
If then the breakfast is a bit more on the abysmal side, you opt out to survival mode and break your fast at the wall to the see in a slight breeze. This turned out to become our usual spot of eating
Despite this, the territory of the hotel is wonderful and the old trees and lava formations are just beautiful.
The flower was shining
An old whale watch tower
And the sea view from our location (looking down the breakfast spot )
Fish ponds
With even live fish…
The weather staid the same – cloudy, wet and warm… Day time 29° / 80% Tropical…
Looks cold – is not Scotland in the Tropics
Just old trees…
a sole survivor
Again they use the lava as building material
size relations are always interesting
fascinating material
The lower you are, the better the weather usually is – yet the warmer as well
Too warm for this cow
How it got there? Poaching neighbour?
Back in the hotel we had some nice time at the sea until a German family came discussing the beer prices in Germany and how bad everything is in life… We went… I was even tempted to ask them in German (as we spoke Latvian the whole time…) if they even in a wonderful spot like this can enjoy something without nagging all the time.
