A night out in Sapporo

Sapporo might not be the most thrilling city on earth to have a night out, but you can see quite a lot of the average Japanese way of being by just strolling around…

Being very much in the North dumplins are far more in favour than in the South.

Very bright and shiny advertisments – unfortunately mostly young girls are advertised and we didn’t venture to explore to which extent the service would go

A nice bar with a trendy barmen. A bit of a nuisance in Japan is that all bars are smoking and usually have a cover charge of 400 – 1000 JPY, which makes a simple strolling around not so easy…

Yet this one had very decent beers (albeit you have to pay a king’s ransom for a proper craft beer…)

The Jazz bar was quite interesting, yet you really have to cut the smoke out in cubes, before you would be able to enter…

This solves the mystery how Gru’s mother (Despicable Me) was as a child…

DSCF0382_1600

A covered walkway – very typical for Japanese cities. Shops, restaurants, etc.

DSCF0383_1600

Hmmm – not sure what to chose? Or just waiting for the food?

Horoscopes are being produced…

And the hungry soul is fed – a whole street full of Ramen (= soup with noodles, etc.) shops

DSCF0401_1600

Small squid balls. Honestly they have not too much taste of their own, but the squid and spices make the difference.

DSCF0403_1600

The typical Thursday / Friday / Saturday night crowd of businessmen and scavengers hanging out…

The advertisments are nice

Selling own creations

She was playing very nice, actually. And he enjoyed it – humming and singing with her. Perhaps a tune from his hometown.

DSCF0415_1600

What is the owner compensating…?

DSCF0414_1600

Lights, lights, lights – they never go out…

DSCF0417_1600

Filled dumplins

DSCF0420_1600

served hot on the go

DSCF0423_1600

A „Girl’s bar“ – well, I assume the genitive for posession is not justified – more a bar where girls (no apostrophe) are present. As before we never ventured to explore the extent of services offered (rendered seems crude) and charged…

DSCF0425_1600

I just wanted to make an innocent photo – then they cheered…

DSCF0426_1600

Used books – these shops can be seen quite often nowadays.
